Julia Wood, MOT, OTR/L, Director of Professional and Community Education and Rachel T. Rose, MOT, OTR/L, Education Manager, both with the Lewy Body Dementia Association (LBDA) will co-chair, “Dwelling in the Gray: Embracing Ambiguity in Advanced Lewy Body Dementia,” on Sunday, April 19 at 1:30pm ET.
As Lewy body dementia (LBD) advances, patients often dwell in ambiguity—fluctuating cognition, shifting identity, and elusive presence. This session invites geriatric psychiatrists to reframe uncertainty as therapeutic potential, offering clinical insights and relational strategies to support patients and families with clarity and compassion. Special emphasis will be placed on partnering with care partners as co-navigators in the therapeutic process, recognizing their unique insights, emotional labor, and essential role in sustaining patient-centered care
This session features Allison Appelbaum, PhD, with the Icahn Schol of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Dylan Wint, MD, with the Cleveland Clinic, Nevada, and Lucille Carriere. PhD, with the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health.
Be sure to visit LBDA at booth 317 in the Exhibit Hall – we look forward to meeting you.
