Julia Wood, MOT, OTR/L, LBDA’s Director of Professional and Community Education, will deliver the Keynote Address,Building a Safe Haven: Creating Supportive Environments for Individuals with Lewy Body Dementia. A supportive environment can transform the daily experiences of individuals living with LBD, fostering safety, dignity, and quality of life. This presentation explores key strategies for tailoring physical spaces, communication approaches, and caregiving practices to meet the unique needs of those with LBD. Attendees will learn practical tips for reducing environmental stressors, promoting meaningful engagement, and enhancing comfort and safety at every stage of the journey, empowering families, care partners and paid caregivers to create a truly compassionate and supportive space.
