As part of DLS's ongoing commitment to giving back and supporting causes important to our team members, we are organizing the 3rd Annual DLS 5k & 1 Mile for Lewy Body Dementia! Proceeds will benefit the Lewy Body Dementia Association. Lewy Body is a progressive brain disorder many people have never heard of, despite being the second most common type of dementia after Alzheimer's.
Race date this year is Saturday, August 22nd. The race courses will be out-and-back and mostly flat along the W&OD Trail. The start/finish line will be on the trail at Bon Air Park & Rose Gardens. All finishers will receive a t-shirt. We will do our best but cannot guarantee a t-shirt for those registering after July 22nd. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers!
The 5k and 1-mile races will start at 9:10 a.m. There will also be a kids' dash of approximately 300 meters starting at 9:00 a.m. to kick things off! Kids will receive a prize at the finish line.
Timing will be done manually with a race clock and bibs; no chips will be used.
Please come out to walk, jog, run, spectate, or volunteer! There are no pace requirements—everyone is welcome!
If you are interested in helping out on race day, please reach out to the race organizer, Kate, at [email protected].
Registration fees: $30 through July 22, $35 until event date.
