LBD Awareness Month

With 1.4 million people nationwide living with Lewy body dementia, the LBD community is not just those living with the disease. Our community includes their families, care partners, friends and neighbors. It also includes healthcare providers, clinical researchers, volunteers, donors and the LBDA staff.

2023’s October Awareness Month recognizes and embraces the tenacity, resilience, compassion, and dedication of the entire LBD community. Join us as we rally together this month to raise awareness of this little-known and largely under-diagnosed disease.

Discover the ways you can become more engaged in the community by helping to raise awareness for LBD.

  • Stay in touch! Join our email list and receive the Lewy Digest, our monthly eNewsletter, and special communications about upcoming educational events, advancements in research and so much more.
  • Register for an educational event! Whether you are just learning about LBD or are an active care partner, our online webinars and panel discussions are designed to explore LBD topics to inform and support you and your loved one and healthcare providers along the way.
  • Advance LBD research! Register with the Lewy Trial Tracker to find clinical trials and other research studies related to LBD that need participants.
  • Raise awareness in your neighborhood! Purchase a limited-edition 20th anniversary commemorative t-shirt and raise awareness about LBD when you are grabbing coffee from your local coffee shop, shopping at the grocery store, at the office or going out to dinner!
  • Connect with a Lewy Buddy! Lewy Buddies are trained LBDA Support volunteers with lived-experience from their own journeys with Lewy body dementia. They provide telephone-based connection and support to those living with Lewy, their care partners, or those bereaved. Let us connect you with a Lewy Buddy today! Send us an email at Support@LBDA.org or call the Lewy Line at 800-539-9767.
