Past Special Events

Who are those remarkable volunteers behind the special events that support the work of the Lewy Body Dementia Association? Most often, they are family members and friends of someone with Lewy body dementia. We are proud to share stories about their incredible efforts!

Robert Doheny of Macomb Township, MI organized a silent auction event that raised more than $8,000 to benefit the Lewy Body Dementia Association.

Thank you to Rachael Valfre and her friend Samantha Lokey of Abilene, TX who organized the First Annual Lewy Body Dementia 5K Walk for Awareness!

Thank you to Nancy Stironek for organizing a DodgeBall Extravaganza event in 2012 to benefit the Lewy Body Dementia Association. The Community Fundraising Event raised more than $3250 to help LBDA continue our mission to help LBD families through outreach, education and research!

It’s not just adults who are making a difference! Boy Scout Liam Vaughn took action by organizing a silent auction after his father was moved into a nursing home.

Mark Gaynor and his family wanted to honor his father, Michael “Mickey” Gaynor, his love for golf and help support LBDA. Learn how they raised $15,000 in 2008 and how they did it again in 2010! Mark shares his advice for anyone interested in planning a special event in honor of their loved one.

Three families in Louisiana, Tennessee, and Wisconsin joined friends and neighbors to increase LBD awareness in more than 700 people and raised more than $10,000 in support of LBDA’s mission in just three months.
