Taking Care of Me

My list of “taking care of me” requirements has grown longer as I’ve aged. It’s no longer just the basics. now I do fifteen minutes of stretching in the morning, I eat oatmeal, and I walk several times a week. For socialization I often persuade someone to walk with me, but go alone if I have to.

Irene Selak Named LBDA’s 2010 Volunteer of the Year

LBDA is pleased to recognize Irene Selak as the 2010 Volunteer of the Year.  Selak was selected for her outstanding volunteer service in LBDA’s mission on December 7, 2010 by the Board of Directors.

Quality of Care in Parkinson’s Includes Annual Cognitive Assessment

Quality clinical care of Parkinson’s disease, with or without accompanying dementia, includes much more than treating movement symptoms. The American Academy of Neurology has published ten quality measures to help clinicians gauge how well they are caring for patients with Parkinson’s.

Volunteers Deliver Campaign Success!

LBDA’s first, national grass roots LBD awareness campaign was a great success, thanks to our tireless volunteers! LBD awareness activities launched in over 35 states nationwide, along with international interest spanning from Canada to Australia and the potential for next year’s campaign is endless.
